The Board of Community Liaison Advisors exists to guide the Rainbow Society’s mission, connect us to Medina County’s LGBTQ+ community, and actively help grow visibility, funding, and inclusion across the county.

Non-working Board Member Buy-in Option is available for an application fee of $10,000 – Comes with a minimal commitment of 6 – 1 hour bimonthly board meetings and voting powers only with no other perks. Skip the interview process and move to from application to final round of selections. This option does NOT guarantee appointment and application fee is nonrefundable.
- Priority given to those who Identify as Lesbian Female (AFAB), Gay Male (AMAB), Transgendered or Nonbinary Individual
- Priority given to individuals who live, work, or serve in Medina County.
- Age: 21+
Time Commitment: Up to 15 Hours per Month
- Term Length: 2-year commitment
- Board Meetings: 6 mandatory 1-Hour bi-monthly meetings per year
- Committee Meetings: 12 1-Hour monthly In-person meetings per year held in Medina
- Community Involvement: UP TO 10-12 hours per month AS NEEDED for community activities, support meetings, fundraisers, programing etc.
Committee Leadership:
- Each board member is expected to chair or co-chair at least one committee, initiative or program per year and encouraged to join more than one.
- Provide updates/reports as needed for relevant project information
- Lead & coordinate any assigned volunteers for successful project completion
Community Involvement:
- Members are expected to attend and work in as many events, fundraisers & activities as possible within their schedule
- Promote programs, fundraisers, events, initiatives, and the Rainbow Society as a whole
- Participate in recognition formalities such as awards ceremonies, donor & sponsor recognition.
- Encourage volunteer signups, physical/monetary/in-kind donations, sponsorships, memberships, merchandise sales and other revenue streams that provide funding and resources for programs and initiatives.
Financial Commitment:
- Each member must secure or contribute $1,000 per calendar year to support programs and operations.
- Members may utilize a wide variety of methods to secure contribution over the course of the year with final totals due December 15th. Subject to verification.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Act as a community liaison and representative for your section of the Medina County LGBTQ+ community within both the Rainbow Society and Medina County at large.
- Serve as a safe space and resource to support the LGBTQ+ community as a whole.
- Vote and/or provide input or expertise on projects, initiatives, programs, budgets, vendors, fundraisers, partnerships, and events.
- Lead at least one committee, program, or initiative each year.
- Support fundraising, sponsorship, and community relations efforts.
- Serve as a visible and vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ equality and inclusion in Medina County.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the organization’s Mission, Principles, and Code of Conduct.
- Applications accepted through December 5
- 2 rounds of Interviews December 7th - 19th
- Final selections made and announced before January 1
- “Buy-In” applicants are subject to the same approval process and standards
- Priority speaking and media opportunities as a recognized Community Liaison (“The face of Medina County ________”)
- Official listing on website and social media as a Board Advisor
- Complimentary enrollment in the Safe Business Certification Program (for business owners)
- Recognition in official ceremonies and apprenticeship programs
- Complimentary Family Pass (four general admissions) to all Rainbow Society events
- Full access to committees, event planning opportunities, and vendor/sponsorship privileges
